As well as skiing, in Wald im Pinzgau and the region tobogganing has an important role to play. Little wonder since the region has several interesting toboggan runs along with the longest floodlit toboggan run in the world!
Toboggan run in Wald:
The little toboggan run at Finkenhof in Wald is open during the day and is floodlit until 20:30 in the evening. It is especially suitable for children. Length approx. 500m, minimal drop.
Toboggan run in Königsleiten:
This toboggan run is around 1 km in length and starts right in Königsleiten. Suitable for beginners and experts alike.
Toboggan run in Krimml:
This natural toboggan run starts at the Hotel Burgeck and proceeds over some 1 km in length to the centre of Krimml. It can be enjoyed in the day and is floodlit every evening until 22:00 too.
The 'longest floodlit toboggan run in the world':
14 kilometres of tobogganing fun on the longest floodlit toboggan run in the world – only in Wildkogel Arena.
Toboggan fun spanning an unbelievable 14 kilometres and 1300 metres of descent from Wildkogel to the valley. The toboggan section takes some 30 to 50 minutes, depending on ability level. On Fridays, ascent via Smaragdbahn is available until 18:30; the toboggan run is floodlit daily until 22:00.
Toboggan hire is of course available and there are various lodges and bars along the route where you can replenish your energy stores. An adventure for all ages!
